Multiple Medicaid COVID-19 Flexibilities Extended Through April 30, 2022

Note: Texas Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) must provide all medically necessary, Medicaid-covered services to eligible clients. Administrative procedures such as prior authorization, precertification, referrals, and claims/encounter data filing may differ from traditional Medicaid (fee-for-service) and from MCO to MCO. Providers should contact the client's specific MCO for details.

The Medicaid COVID-19 flexibilities described in the following articles have been extended through April 30, 2022. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is extending these flexibilities because they include teleservices that are being analyzed in alignment with House Bill 4.

The guidance provided in the following notices will end effective January 31, 2022, because it has been replaced by related interim guidance:
